Founded in 2011, the VCBF has grown into the largest children’s book festival on the East Coast, and this year, for the FIRST time ever, we are hosting an event to raise money for the incredibly significant work that we do all throughout the year. We Are NOT the MET Gala will be held on July 16, 2021, in Farmville, Virginia. Inspired by the The New York Metropolitan Museum’s annual fashion-forward gala, We Are NOT the MET will be a celebration— the VCBF may not be as glamorous or stylish as the Met, but for tens of thousands of children across the state and country, attending the VCBF is the event of the season-if not the year!
